TikTok ranked number one in 30 countries including Australia, the UK, Canada and New Zealand.
The study conducted by Mailsuite analysed the reviews for the top social media apps and ranked the highest and lowest-rated social media apps in every country
The short-form video app, owned by Chinese company ByteDance, reaches more than 8.5 million Australians each month.
This is despite the fact there are serious concerns about data privacy and political misinformation.
In March the US House of Representatives passed a bill that would give ByteDance, six months to divest from the app and sell to a company that is not based in China, due to national security concerns.
The federal government last year banned the use of TikTok on government devices but has pushed back against pressure from the Coalition to follow the tough US stance against the platform.
Most hated social media app
Reddit took out the dubious honour of being the most hated social media app in Australia.
However, Reddit didn't top the list globally.
Facebook and Facebook Lite are the most hated apps across 30 countries.
While Instagram or Instagram Lite were the most hated apps in Algeria, Oman, and Jordan and Meta newcomer Threads was the most hated in Greece and Hong Kong.
