PLAYER OF THE ROUND: In his 200th game, Carlton captain Patrick Cripps put the Blues on his back in the last quarter and did everything he could to engineer a comeback win. But Jamarra Ugle-Hagan played his best game this season and kicked four goals, as did Rhylee West.
THE MOMENT: With Hawthorn trailing Fremantle by 15 points late in the third term, Hawks coach Sam Mitchell made the inspired decision to send captain James Sicily into attack. The key defender was a passenger up until that point, clearly protecting his recently-dislocated shoulder. But he thrived when sent into attack, kicking a goal late in the third term and two more in the last to help Hawthorn snatch victory.
TALKING POINT: Are Collingwood in real danger of missing the finals? The reigning premiers are outside the top eight, struggling for form and decimated by injuries. Coach Craig McRae has made it clear - with six games to go "time's running out" for Collingwood.
