The supermarket in the Adelaide Hills town of Stirling was open just after 2pm on October 15 when the blaze broke out.
Twenty fire trucks and 100 firefighters battled the blaze for several hours at the shopping complex on Mount Barker Rd.
A South Australia Police spokesperson said the store was "completely destroyed by fire".
"Multiple businesses have also sustained significant damage in the blaze," the spokesperson said.
"The supermarket was open at the time, however, everyone was safely evacuated and there were no reports of any injuries."
It's estimated the damage bill will exceed $15 million according to South Australia's Country Fire Service (CFS).
"Mount Barker Road has now reopened to traffic, however, there is still a cordoned-off area around the shopping complex," a CFS spokesperson said.
"Crews managed to save a number of businesses within the shopping complex, which would have significantly increased the damage bill."
