Estimated to weigh more than 300kg, adult female 128 Grazer was declared winner of the 9th annual competition as the public voted for the bear they thought "best exemplified fatness in brown bears".
Each year the brown bears of Alaska's Katmai National Park go head-to-head in the bracket-style tournament to see who has had the most successful, salmon-filled summer.
Katmai National Park's Naomi Boak said "Grazer" was probably the best angler on the Brooks River and could fish from almost anywhere.
"Grazer was single this year; she had no cubs to defend and feed so she could concentrate on herself," she said during a Fat Bear Week livestream.
Known as an "aggressive, dominant" female, Grazer was even seen fishing at night during the summer to make sure she was plump enough to survive winter hibernation.
Her finalist opponent was '32 Chunk', a "massive bear" and one of the largest males on the river which rangers estimate weighed about 550kg.
More than 1.3 million votes were cast in Fat Bear Week in early October, celebrating Katmai National Park's brown bears and the ecosystem they thrive in.
During hibernation bears can lose a third of their body weight making a successful summer vital to survival.
