And Australian snowboarder Scotty James is continuing the TikTok trend at the Winter Olympics this year with videos for his 200,000 followers on the platform.
The 27-year-old Victorian has been sharing clips of his trip to Beijing, his Australian uniform, accommodation in the Olympic village and training on the halfpipe.
Mr James' most popular video has 3.2 million views and showed him go through "things in his Olympic room that just make sense" such as Cholula hot sauce and a kangaroo plush toy.
Another clip with 1.6 million views showed his uniform and goodies from the Australian Olympic team.
"This one [jacket] is normally for the podium, so let's use it next week!" Mr James said in the clip.

More recent clips showed Mr James snowboard down the halfpipe and perform a number of tricks as he trained for the upcoming competition.
"First day of training, halfpipe is awesome! So cool to meet some local support," Mr James wrote on Instagram on Sunday.
Mr James is set to compete in the men's snowboard halfpipe qualification, which begins at 3:30pm AEDT on Wednesday, February 9.
The final runs will be held at 12:30pm AEDT on Friday, February 11.
He previously won the bronze medal in the men's half pipe competition at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018.
