Loud and proud about Kempsey Lilli Pilli Ladies' quiet room

The ladies will help fund the refurbishment of the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute's quiet rooms.

These rooms, located within the MNCCI at Port Macquarie, provide a safe and private space for oncology team members to meet with patients and their support people.

The $6000 donation will fund comfortable chairs, new paint work, a table and plants.

MNCCI Office Manager Robyn Davis gratefully accepted the donation on behalf of the cancer centre and its patients.

"We are so very fortunate to be supported by our community," Ms Davis said.

"The Lilli Pilli Ladies have returned to us time and again to help fund medical equipment and improve patient amenity.

"We are so grateful for the support because we know it makes the world of difference to our patients and their loved ones."

Lilli Pilli Ladies spokesperson Judy Saul said the July Glitz and Glamour event at Kempsey Macleay RSL Club, which helped fund the donation, was a credit to the organisers and the Kempsey community, in particular the 80 people who supported the evening.

"It was a lot of fun, and tickets sold out almost immediately," Ms Saul said.

"I think people realise that when the Lilli Pill Ladies host a fundraiser, it will be for a great cause and will be a lot of fun."

Christopher King, make-up artist to the stars, was the special guest. A Kempsey local, Chris started his career in the UK and quickly rose to the top of the London beauty and fashion scene; his work gracing the covers of Vogue magazine.

"Chris was absolutely wonderful, and played a pivotal role in the success of the event."

The Lilli Pilli Ladies are already planning their next fundraiser on International Women's Day, on Saturday 5 March 2022. Further details will be shared closer to the event.
