The morning, hosted by Climate Change Australia-Hastings, will be positive and upbeat with a focus on solutions.
Attendees will hear from people such as:
- Kelly Guthrie, a local musician
- Evie Wood McGuire, a teenage student from Taree High School
- Chay Khamsone, a Rural Fire Service firefighter and sustainability/environment educator
- Rhiannon Simmons, from Coastal Warriors & Sea Scavenge, who runs workshops on current environmental issues
- Cathy Eggert andJeremy Bradley, local farmers and winners of awards for their innovations in sustainable agriculture
- Angela Frimberger, Chair of Energy Forever, trained by Al Gore as part of the Climate Reality Project, and member of Veterinarians for Climate Action; and
- Harry Creamer, well-known local climate activist and founding member of CCA.
The rally will commence at 10am.
This will be a peaceful, family-friendly event, with a few speeches, some live music, and a short march. There will be banners and posters but people can bring their own.
It will be an all-weather event, so participants should take sun protection or wet-weather gear, depending on the forecast.
