The day was also the Monthly Medals in each grade, as it was the first Saturday of the month June for 2021.
A big thank you goes to Vets Club for their sponsorship of the event which saw a good field of 77 players hit off in good conditions.
Taking out the best score in the top grade was the veteran Grahame Martin with a very good net score of 4 under par 68 to claim the medal and the top prize.
Brody Clarke, who was in the very first group of the day, was awarded the runner up prize after his net score of 71.
In the 'B' grade, the winner of the medal was Nick Ingall with a net score of 73, and with a net score of 74 Mitchell Clarke was the runner up.
Ray Moodie topped the 'C' grade with a net score of 73 , while Jill Stringer was the runner up on a net score of 75.
All three winners of the medals will now be in the November playoffs for the gold medal.
In the Gross event on Saturday, the 'A' grade winner was Clarke with a very good round of 74, while in 'B' grade, the winner was Ingall with 87 and Moodie made it a double with his round of 95 in the 'C' grade.
In the weekly ball competition the winners were players with a score of 76 net on a countback and they can be collected from the pro shop at the club anytime, along with any unclaimed vouchers from the event.
Tomorrow at the Kempsey Golf Club, members and visitors will be playing in the 2021 Coastline Credit Union 18 hole Medley Single Stableford event with a 7am start from the first tee.
All intending players can book in now at the club or go online. For more information about any upcoming events, please give the club a call anytime.
Coming up on Saturday June 19 is the MVVS 18 hole 2 person Ambrose event, which will have lots of top prizes up for grades on the day.
Again book in early for this big event.
Last Sunday saw our div.2 pennants team travel to Coffs Harbour for their last match of the home and away games.
Needing a victory to progress to the finals, the team held off the strong home side and recorded a great victory 3 matches to 2.
They will now progress onto the finals with the date and place to be advised.
