He celebrated with a special birthday celebration at his new home in Cedar Place, West Kempsey, complete with cake, balloons and a letter from the queen.
Fred was born at Werris Creek in 1921 and spent most of his early years living and going to school in the town.
He later moved to Junee, where he married his late wife, Millie. The happy couple would eventually have four children together.
Many years later, they would welcome nine grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
In 1954, the young family moved to Kempsey, where Fred would become a train driver, a profession he would take pride in and excel at for over 40 years.
Fred spent over 60 years living and working in the Kempsey community, and can still recall fond memories of fishing and shooting at local swamps.
