Taylah is apart of the Kempsey/Crescent Head Surf Life Saving Club and recently received state recognition for her efforts.
She was crowned NSW junior lifesaver of the year at the state awards in Sydney.
The process was rigorous, involving face-to-face interviews and surf life saving events.
Taylah was also awarded Club Points Champion and Carnival Champion at the last Kempsey/Crescent Head nippers season - making it four seasons in a row for her.
If you missed Tuesday's Argus here's Taylah's comments after winning the NSW junior lifesaver of the year award.
"I've learned a lot through SLS and with this knowledge I often help people in need, whether it's dealing with a bluebottle sting or helping someone with an oyster cut," she said.
She also shared a brilliant vision for educating young people.
"I would create a partnership with the Department of Education so that all students could gain formal qualifications in basic first aid and CPR at a young age," she explained.
"Whether they live on the coast or in the bush, giving young kids the skills to save lives could potentially save hundreds if not thousands of lives over a lifetime.
"It would also help young people get a job as it's a great qualification to put on their resume."
Taylah is not just involved in surf life saving, she's excelled in multiple sports, previously playing in netball and now turning her hand to rugby union with the Kempsey Cannonballs.
