She is a current representative for Football Mid North Coast and just last year was recruited to play for the Eastcoast Eagles Futsal Club.
"They wanted more girls to play in a 16s competition so they asked a couple of us from my old club, Western Phoenix, if we wanted to play in nationals last year - so that's how I started," she told the Argus.
"I'd never played before so I thought it'd be a good experience."
From there her Futsal career has come on leaps and bounds.
The club competed at the u'16s 2021 National Club Futsal Championships and came away winners, defeating Tasmania last weekend.
"We were all nervous because we had to play against youth teams who are 17 to 22 year olds so we knew they'd be pretty tough," Amelia explained.
The excitement of a win was followed by an email informing her of selection for the u'16s Australian Futsal team to tour Taiwan in April 2022 (pending borders being opened).
"I was really excited, kind of in shock," she said.
"We did hear that the Australian coach was in attendance at the games but I didn't expect I'd be selected for the Australian team.
The tour will last for around ten days with plenty of opportunities for sightseeing.
A Crescent Head resident, it'll mark Amelia's first time overseas.
"It'll be good to visit a new country, especially representing futsal as well," she said.
"I get to do something I love and also go overseas."
