LAST FRIDAY Mid North Coast Traffic and Highway Patrol Police attempted to stop a car travelling north on Lord Street, Kempsey.

Police will allege the driver initially slowed, but then did a U-turn and started travelling south on Lord Street and into South Kempsey.
The pursuit concluded on Burnt Bridge Road, where after a short foot pursuit, a 22 year old Burnt Bridge man was arrested.
During a search police will alleged they located a quantity of methylamphetamine, commonly known as Ice.
The man was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with:
- Possession of a prohibited drug
- Driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period
- Police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously
- Supply of a prohibited drug
- Assaulting an officer in execution of duty
- Resisting an officer in execution of duty
The man was refused bail by police and appeared at Kempsey Local Court where he was refused bail. He is set to appear in Kempsey Local Court again on February 8.
A 55 year old Burnt Bridge man was also arrested at the conclusion of the pursuit. He was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with resist officer in execution of duty and resist or hinder police officer in the execution of duty. Bail was refused and he appeared in court later that day.
