Corrective Services NSW Commissioner Peter Severin said the incident ended just before 6pm Saturday, and he praised the staff involved for reaching a safe resolution.
"The coordinated effort of local correctional officers and specialist units meant this incident was resolved without serious injury to staff," Mr Severin said.
"The incident and outcome demonstrates the expertise of staff on the ground, including the local negotiators, Security Operations Group teams from Mid North Coast and Sydney, and all others involved.
"I want to thank everyone for ensuring it ended peacefully and safely."
The incident began just after midday on Saturday, when a 20-year-old inmate gained access to an A-pod office and punched an officer a number of times.
A second inmate, aged 23, also gained access to the office.
A command post was established and highly-trained corrections staff managed the incident.
All available support will be provided to the officers involved.
