Scotts Head played host to round four and five of the North Coast Surf Boat Series on the weekend as 86 crews from the Central Coast, Hunter and the North Coast took part.

The carnival was coupled with the Central Coast/Newcastle Surf Boat Series.
"Once a year we get together for a two day carnival where we compete together, in previous years it's been down on the South Coast but recently it's been at Scotts Head and we swap around every couple of years," Carl Thurgood, President of Kempsey Crescent Head SLSC said.
"This way it makes for a more competitive and larger carnival."
Conditions on the Saturday were mainly fine but a howling nor-easter on the Sunday made proceedings difficult.
"Saturday we got a full day of racing in, conditions got interesting at the end but we got through," Thurgood told the Argus.
"On Sunday conditions worsened and we only got through half of the first round and then they called off the carnival for the rest of the day due to a large and messy swell."
Round one and two of the series were at Minnie Water-Wooli Surf Life Saving Club on November 7/8 while round three was at Coffs Harbour.
In round one, Kempsey Crescent Head SLSC came out on top of the 160s men event but fell back into second at Coffs.
In other results at Coffs, KCH Open's men's were in second.
Results are yet to be posted for the Scotts Head carnival.
The rest of the rounds will start in the New Year with Wauchope-Bonnie Hills SLSC, Evans Head SLSC and Woolgoolga SLSC playing hosts.
