A MAN has died and two people have been injured after a tree fell on a car at Kundabung, south of Kempsey.

At about 4.40pm today, a Subaru station wagon was travelling into Barry's Creek rest area on the Pacific Highway when a large tree fell onto the moving vehicle.
The man seated in the rear of the car died at the scene. He has not been formally identified.
A man and woman seated in the front of the Subaru were injured and taken to Port Macquarie Hospital suffering non-life-threatening injuries.
A crime scene has been established as investigations continue.
A brief will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
