Among their ranks were die-hard race fans, and casual punters just happy to be out and about after a year of doom and gloom.
The Melbourne Cup looks very different this year, with COVID-19 restrictions preventing anyone from being there in person, but there were still plenty of race fans happy to watch it on the television.
One of the strongest fields in recent memory ran in the 2020 Melbourne Cup, with the first race starting at 11 am, and the main event beginning at 3 pm.
Tiger Moth was the favorite, but Twilight Payment ended up taking out the big win.
