McKay, who lives near Willawarrin, makes the trek to Crescent Head most weekends to soak in the sun and surf with bowl in hand.
Recently the travel was all worth it after taking out the clean sweep in the Crescent Head bowls championships.

President of Crescent Head Bowls, Mark Fenwick, said McKay's achievement is not often seen.
"I can't remember seeing a clean sweep and I've been here for around 19 years," he said to the Argus.
McKay was successful in the fours, triples, pairs and singles to wipe the floor and the success was made special by sharing in the joy with his father, Gordon, who was apart of the doubles, triples and fours wins.
"It feels special with Dad, to win 3 with your father is phenomenal," he told the Argus.
The lawn bowls club holds three tournaments a year with four grade pennants whilst holding social events most weekends.
