Kempsey Fire and Rescue crews were called to a house fire in West Kempsey on Monday afternoon.

The station received the call out to Keith Moses Crescent at 3.47pm and arrived on scene shortly after.
"The house was fully involved with fire on arrival and two crews started work to extinguish the fire," Kempsey Fire and Rescue Station Commander Tony Hackenberg said.
The house was unoccupied and unfurnished.
"We had two trucks that attended. Crews also worked to protect neighbouring houses from the blaze," Mr Hackenberg said.
"The fire was extinguished without damage to neighbouring properties.
"Unfortunately we have been called to fires where unoccupied houses are well alight. We had a similar call to a house fire on Robert Eggins Street on Saturday," Mr Hackenberg said.
Police, ambulance crews and Essential Energy also attended the scene.
Mr Hackenberg said during this time of year grass fires are also becoming more common in the area.
"We're starting to get calls to grass fires and we just want to remind people that if they are in town and want to burn off, they need a permit," he said.
