CREWS from Kempsey Fire and Rescue were called to a property at Frederickton this morning just before 10.30 after receiving reports of an explosion in the area.

Fire and Rescue NSW station commander Tony Hackenberg said that when the local crews arrived, they were met with clouds of thick black smoke.
"The crews from Kempsey Fire and Rescue found a small rubbish fire on a property near Frederickton," he said.
"Due to the reports of an explosion, ambulance and police were also on the scene, along with the Rural Fire Service who were supporting Fire and Rescue."
The fire is believed to have been deliberately lit as part of an unauthorised burning.
Crews were able to contain the fire quickly using foam, and no one was hurt, but Commander Hackenberg still cautions everyone to be sensible when disposing of rubbish.
"If you need to dispose of rubbish, take it to the tip, or use the bins provided, don't try and burn off tyres, plastic and other household waste," he said.
"You still need a permit to burn in our jurisdiction, and those who are living rural need to alert RFS and their neighbours at least 24 hours before they burn."
