Debbie Smythe of Kundabung said she was walking back to bed at around 1:40am when she noticed an unusual sight outside.
"I was inside with no lights on, it was pitch black darkness until I saw a light and thought it was someone outside," she told the Argus.
"I thought I'd open the curtains and have a look and could see the trees illuminated, despite there being no moonlight.
"I still thought it could be someone driving in the paddock but the light faded away over about 10-20 seconds."

Various posts from people in Sydney, Bulahdelah, Taree, Darwin and Launceston in the Facebook group, Australia Meteor Reports, have supported Debbie's observations.
"If you look North toward the horizon, there was a meteor about 2 fists to the right and 3 fists from the ground going straight down. There was a bright light for like 0.1 seconds and it looked kind of orange. It lasted 3 seconds after I saw it. Very cool", one member from Sydney said.
"1:15 am, travelling northwards along Pacific Highway just north of Bulahdelah. Bright white meteorite, nearly vertical, only visible for about two seconds. Did anyone else see it?" another user claimed.
"1:40 am. Travelling north on Pacific Highway about 5 km south of Taree, whole sky lights are green. No meteorite seen", that same user added.
It's possible the sightings could've been apart of the Delta Aquariid meteor shower which normally peaks around late July.
