Two students from Kempsey High School, Jesse Perrin and Kaitlin Hurtley, are both looking forward to their futures after receiving their results.
Jesse was awarded dux of the school and received an exceptional ATAR score of 86.55.
"Information processes and technology (IPT) was the subject I scored highest in, I was two marks off a band 6," Jesse said.
"I did the subject by distance education which shows that even if your school doesn't have the subject there are ways to follow something you're interested in, even if it's an unconventional way to study.
"I'm proud of the results I got from all of the hard work I put in, all of the work was worth it in the end."
Jesse is still weighing up his options for plans after high school.
"I'm not too sure what I want to do yet, but at this stage I'm just weighing up my options," he said.
Kaitlin was also one of the students from Kempsey High who received a high ATAR score.
"I received an ATAR of 63.4 and my two highest subjects were English and PDHPE," Kaitlin said.
"The two years of study that I put into the HSC has payed off."
Kaitlin plans to go straight to uni next year to study teaching.
"I would like to study to become both a primary and secondary teacher and just see what suits me," she said.
More than 66,000 students completed their HSC this year. 7500 students studied one or more HSC courses throughout the year and 55,000 students received an ATAR.
