However, generous and thoughtful acts have helped the town begin to replace the losses.
Sydney man George Webb delivered a truckload of food from Food Angels to the struggling community last Friday and was shocked by the damage he saw in the region.
"Bellbrook has been hit really hard by the fires, a lot of land and wildlife has been destroyed between Willawarrin and Bellbrook," he said.
"I met the queen of Bellbrook, Shirley, and she rounded up a dozen or so people to help me unload the truck with donated items.
"I have been heading north to deliver donated items to help and that's what it's about and the reason I am sharing what I have been doing is not for recogntion, but to raise awareness and get as many people on board as possible.
"The drought was the worst we have had and the bushfires made a bad situation worse."
Mr Webb met some Bellbrook locals who shared their difficult stories.
"I met a lot of people who have been devastated by the fires," he said.
"I came across a man when I was driving outside of Bellbrook and taking photos and he was living in a tent the poor bugger. He had suffered a great loss; lost his caravan, small excavator and many other farm buggies and equipment and like many others had no insurance.
"But like most people I have met over the last six weeks between Mount George, Taree, Hillsville and Bellbrook, they all still have a smile and carry on. Some of the best people in Australia are country people. They are tough, resilient and don't whine and whinge like us city folk.
"They all support and help one another within their community and simply put, they are amazing human beings.
"Hopefully our government can do a little more as I know farmers need money and water urgently."
