Weatherzone meteorologist Brett Dutschke claims the trends suggest there will be heavy rainfall in the early weeks of summer and the potential for two months to be wetter than average.
"There are signs the rainfall for summer in Kempsey will be higher than average for the season as a whole," Mr Dutschke told the Argus.
"The trend suggests it will be wet early in the summer and there will be shorter dry spells and more rainy days, some of them will be stormy days.
"An estimate of how much rain there will be is quite hard but the trend is showing there is a good chance one of the months and potentially two will be wetter than average.
"But it won't be all three, one of the months will be drier than average."

Mr Dutschke was unable to specify which month would be driest but predicted December to be a wetter than average month.
The Kempsey Airport has recorded 324.2mm of rain in 2019 compared with the yearly average of 1044.9mm to November, according to Weatherzone.
In the near future, Mr Dutschke predicted Kempsey to experience thunderstorms over the next few days with a high chance of a severe thunderstorm on Saturday November 30.
Between 1-5mm of rain is expected to fall today (Friday November 29) while between 5-10mm is predicted tomorrow.
The predicted high rainfall isn't expected to lead to a cooler summer, as Mr Dutschke also said Kempsey would experience a hotter than average summer.
