The RFS Fires Near Me app is showing a new bushfire out of control on Darkwood Rd, Thora.
Two RFS fire trucks, one from North Bellingen, went racing over the bridge towards town, sirens on, at about 3.30pm.
Three fire trucks were seen heading up Darkwood Rd.
It looks like it is a few kilometres up the road from the Thora store, near Leans Creek, not far from Scotchman State Forest.
UPDATE: 4.30pm - now listed as 'being controlled'.
