According to Weatherzone, Saturday in Kempsey and Crescent Head is expected to reach a top of 27 degrees, and with only a 5 per cent chance of rain, it's going to be a warm start to the weekend. Sunday will see the hottest day this month with a high of 28 degrees, the afternoon could see everything cool down though with a 70 per cent chance of 1-5mm of rain.
There has been very little rain lately, it's not the driest August on record but it's been close. 2003 has the record with only 0.1mm falling. So far, this month has only seen 0.4mm; the wettest day was the 1st of August with 0.2mm.
Over in South West Rocks, the weather will be milder, Saturday will bring a top of 24 degrees, a high UV index and only a slight chance of rain. Sunday will see a high of 26 degrees and a 70 per cent chance of 1-5mm falling.
South West Rocks has been more fortunate with their rainfall than Kempsey and Crescent Head, seeing a total of 16.2mm for the month so far.
Unfortunately the beach might be off the cards with hazardous surf conditions considered a possibility for the NSW coastline in the next few days.
