A man has died and another is under police guard at hospital after an incident near Kempsey last night.

About 9.15pm on Friday, August 3, police were called to an address at Dondingalong, after reports of a stabbing.
A 54-year-old man was located deceased at the scene. A crime scene was established at the location.
About 9.35pm, emergency services were called to a single vehicle crash a short distance away.
A man, believed to be aged about 40, was removed from the vehicle and was taken to hospital under police guard for treatment to non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives from Mid North Coast Police District continue with inquiries into the incident.
