A 24-year-old West Kempsey man has been refused bail on a string of charges in relation to a series of crimes between Nambucca Heads and Port Macquarie.

Elwyn Roberts was arrested as a result of police operation Strike Force Pillapai, formed to investigate crimes between June 28 and 30, 2019 along the Mid-North Coast.
Police facts state that about 10.30pm, Friday, July 5 officers attached to Mid North Coast Police District, assisted by Dog Unit and Polair, attended a property on Middleton Street, South Kempsey where police attempted to arrest a wanted man.
The man allegedly jumped a fence and a lengthy foot pursuit ensued before police found the offender hiding in the bedroom of a house in Albert Street.
It is alleged Roberts struggled with police before running from the house and into the rear yard where he was arrested.
Roberts faced Port Macquarie Local Court on Monday, July 8 charged with aggravated break, enter and steal, take and drive conveyance, two counts of assault, beach of bail, escape lawful custody, being unlicensed, assaulting police and resisting arrest.
Bail for previous offences was revoked and Roberts was remanded in custody to re-appear before the magistrate at Port Macquarie Local Court on September 4, 2019.
