Residents knew Pat Conaghan received the highest number of votes following the election in May, but now locals can see just how many votes each of the eight candidates for the seat of Cowper received.
The two candidates preferred for Cowper were Rob Oakeshott with 45,596 votes and Pat Conaghan who received 59,932 votes.
There was a swing of 2.23 per cent of voters in Cowper in favour of The Nationals compared to the previous Federal Election.
Votes for first preference in the first count for all candidates:
- Pat Conaghan (The Nationals) - 49,668
- Rob Oakeshott (Independent) - 25,847
- Andrew Woodward (Labor) - 14,551
- Lauren Edwards (The Greens) - 6264
- Alexander Stewart (United Australia Party) - 3188
- Ruth Meads (Christian Democratic Party) - 2383
- Kellie Pearce (Animal Justice Party) - 2176
- Allen Green (Independent) - 1451
In the final two party preferred count Mr Oakeshott received 43.21 per cent of the final vote while Mr Conaghan remained the preferred candidate with 56.79 per cent of the votes going to The Nationals.
The seat of Cowper is home to 124,507 eligible voters, 91.90 per cent of which headed to the polls in May.
