Do it for Dollly Day is this Friday, May 10, and is an initiative which hopes to extend the Dolly's Dream message within communities and build on the support available for those impacted by bullying.
Dealer Principal at Kempsey Toyota, Michael Briscoe, has encouraged his management team to give back to the community through fundraisers and community events.
This is important to Michael as a local business owner.
"We sometimes need to take a break from our day to day business to look at what we can do to contribute to the community or help a charity in need," he said.
"The Do it for Dolly Day is relevant to so many people and families in our community and it really touched me and I wanted our business and staff to support and participate."
Kempsey Toyota will be getting behind the cause by running a gold coin donation car wash between 8.30am and 4.30pm on Friday.
As well as the car wash, Kempsey Toyota will also be holding a raffle. Tickets are $2 each or three tickets are $5.
Prizes for the raffle include:
- $250 service voucher to use in house at Kempsey Toyota
- $250 parts and accessories voucher to use in house at Kempsey Toyota
- ARB Recovery Kit donated by ARB Port Macquaire
- An 18 holes of golf voucher for two adults, including a cart, which has been donated by South West Rocks Country Club
- Three Armor All Car Care Packs donated by Repco Kempsey
- Two socket sets and one head torch donated by Burson Auto Parts Kempsey
There will also be a gold coin donation cake and lolly stall throughout the day.
"The offers of support from locals has been overwhelming," Mr Briscoe said.
"The donations, be it large or small, will hopefully assist the Dolly's Dream charity work towards creating a change by raising awareness in children and parents about the serious issue of bullying and it's devastating effects."
