The international motofest event hosted rounds of the Australian Superbikes, Asian Road Racing Championship, Junior Australian Road Race Championships and Australian Supermoto Championships.
The MDMCC members Tyler O'Donnell, Clay Clegg and Kristian O'Donnell competed in the Australian Junior Road Race Championships and the Australian Supermoto Championships on Friday and Saturday night.
Despite it being the first road race meeting for Tyler and Kristian and the first Supermoto meeting for Kristian and Clay, they quickly adapted to the disciplines and produced some solid results at the meeting.
Tyler O'Donnell entered the meeting in third place in the Junior supermoto series and he managed a fouth. The result means Tyler remains in the overall third position heading into the third and final round in October. In the 160cc Road race class Tyler placed seventh overall.
Clay Clegg, the more experienced of the three riders on the bitumen, achieved his first race podiums with a third in the motostars Junior Race and a third in the Junior lites supermoto class.
These race results were good enough to have clay finish fourth overall in the Junior Motostars class and fifth in the supermoto lites.
Kristian O'Donnell entered the weekend having never raced on the road and had no trouble adapting to the new surface. The junior's best race results were second in the 85cc junior road race class and third in the Supermoto lites. Overall Kristian finished fourth in the 85cc road race, fourth in the Supermoto lites and sixth in the 160cc Junior Road race classes.
MDMCC president Trent O'Donnell was proud of the development of the juniors.
"The growth in skills of our members over the past 18 months has been tremendous and the range of disciplines our members are now competing in is testament to the dedication of our members to the sport," O'Donnell said.
"Almost weekly, we have members competing away from our core dirt track discipline and are achieving solid results.
"The experience of racing at one of the countries world class race venues alone, was exciting for these members but to achieve these results at the Bend, particulary at their first road or supermoto race meetings, is something to be very proud of.
"The racing never stops for our members this weekend we have Jayden Holder competing in the Queensland Junior Track and Dirt Track Championships and then the following weekend the action is at Greenhill Speedway when the club hosts the Kempsey Macleay RSL Club, NSW Senior Dirt Track Championships."
