The South West Rocks product opened the scoring, set up a teammate after a thrilling solo run and fulfilled his role in Australia's dominant 62-14 victory over Japan in the Oceania Under-20s Championship opener.
Triston, who lined up on the wing, had a dream start as he crossed for a try inside the first minute.
The 20-year-old crept up in support of fullback Isaac Lucas, who had thrown a dummy and broke the Japanese defensive line, and passed a short ball to Triston, who raced down the sideline before stepping back in field to score under the posts.
In the 25th minute, Triston was back in the action as he showcased his ability to break a game open.
The utility back, who has played in two tournaments for the Australian Rugby Sevens side, picked up a loose ball, calmly jogged back in field before stepping off his left foot, turning on the jets and sprinting straight through a gap in the defence.

Triston calmly slowed his pace and drew two defenders before firing a long ball to fellow winger Mark Nawanqanitwaswe, who passed the ball on to Harry Wilson to score.
The Junior Wallabies side will play three games in the Oceania tournament, which is being held in the Gold Coast.
The side picked up a hard-fought 16-0 victory against the Fijian Under-20s side on Tuesday night which means they will face New Zealand in the Oceania Under-20s championship decider this Saturday.
There was a large number of changes made to the Australian side for the game against Fiji and more changes are expected ahead of the final match with the All Blacks.
Triston was named on the bench for the Fijian clash but will be in calculations for a return to the starting side.
