Local woman Michelle Wilcox will trek through Tuscany in June to raise money for Breast Cancer Network Australia.

The journey is a personal one for Michelle after a number of family members, herself included, have been diagnosed with breast cancer.
"There are a lot of people I'm doing this for. The Breast Cancer Network organisation has helped and supported a number of my family members while they were fighting breast cancer," she said.
Michelle's family carry the BRCA gene. Women who inherit this breast cancer susceptibility gene are at an increased risk of developing breast cancer and ovarian cancer compared to the general population.
"I'm calling this 'Trekking for the Generation' because of the BRCA gene being passed down in our family and each generation has had to deal with breast cancer."
Michelle will be joining 15 other Australians on the 10 day trek from Florence to Siena.
Her goal is to raise $4000 for Breast Cancer Network Australia and Michelle will be holding a fundraising afternoon event at the Riverbank Cafe in Gladstone.
"It's going to be a lovely relaxing afternoon for people to come and enjoy, it's a really beautiful location," Michelle said.
The fundraising afternoon will be held at the Riverbank Cafe in Gladstone on Saturday May 18 from 5pm.
There will be finger food, music and bubbles on arrival. There will also be lucky door prizes up for grabs including wine, plants and vouchers for local businesses.
A silent auction will also be held for a painting by artist Myffie Coady.
Tickets for the event are $35 and can be purchased from Just Lingerie and Harley and Rose from next week.
