The Mustangs downed Old Bar 38-18 at Old Bar while Port Sharks edged out Port City 18-14, although the Sharks held a commanding lead until just before fulltime.
In other games this weekend Taree City and Old Bar clash at the Jack Neal Oval on Saturday while on Sunday Forster-Tuncurry heads to Port Macquarie to clash with Port City and Wingham makes the trip to the Lank Bain Complex at Wauchope on Sunday to tackle the Bulls.
Taree City and Old Bar both lost their opening round matches. Wingham will be keen to atone for a disappointing effort last Sunday when going down to Forster-Tuncurry
