The Kempsey Greyhound Racing club is hosting a race meet this Saturday and vice-president Sue Wade is hopeful the community will turn up to show their support while the local club deals with financial troubles.

"We are in a bit of a difficult situation at the moment. We need to get bums on seats, sponsors on board and just for the community to show us a bit of support," Ms Wade said.
"We really hope to get a lot of people from the community to attend the race day this Saturday."
The event will commence at 1pm with 11 races scheduled on the day.
There will be bar, totes, canteen and bookmakers on site.
"It will be a great day of fun and it's very social, so come along, enjoy yourself and help out a local club," Ms Wade said.
The final cost of the stolen items and damaged goods was thousands of dollars.
