Rovers produced arguably their best victory of the season as they toppled former competition leaders Wingham on Saturday but it wasn't enough to keep their finals aspirations alive.

The 22-run win lifted Rovers back into fifth place in the standings but they trail the fourth placed Port Macquarie Pirates and with one round remaining, it is impossible for Rovers to move ahead on the ladder. The top four qualify for the finals.
Rovers bowler Matt Scott was proud of the efforts of the side on Saturday but admits they are disappointed to drop out of the finals picture.
"Unfortunately it looks like it is all done for us," Scott told the Argus.
"I wish we could have been a bit better at the start of the season and the we could be sitting in a better position now.
We did put a lot of pressure on ourselves but this is a great bunch of boys to play cricket with and we are looking forward to doing it all again next season."
Rovers began their match against Wingham on the front foot, scoring a quick fire 34 in tough conditions before the loss of their first wicket.
Top order batsman Jye Woodget batted well to top score for Rovers with 44 while Jack Bennett added a much-needed 22 to help the side post a score of 146.
The Rovers bowlers came out firing as they picked up crucial wickets early on.
Harry Nemme got the scalp of Michael Rees in the first over while Scott and Callan McKiernan chimed in to have Wingham at 6/41.
Wingham's tail was able to wag but eventually they were dismissed for 124.
Scott (4/28), Nemme (3/30) and McKiernan (3/21) were the difference with the ball in hand while Mitch Korn had a great game with the gloves as he earned two stumpings and a catch.
While Rovers are disappointed their year will come to an end after their final regular season match against Macquarie this Saturday, Scott claims the season has been a huge success as there has been plenty of improvement.
"Everyone has improved in one way or another and we are a young team which will only be better next year," Scott said.
"We know we can take it out, we just need to play our best cricket every week."
