Frederickton's Kim Commane embarked on a daunting trip to the other side of the world to continue her professional career late last year, but her transition into the Bath Netball team has been seamless.

The 30-year-old has helped lead her side to three wins from six games to start the Vitality Netball Superleague season but arguably her most challenging experience has come as a surprise.
While the majority of her family and friends sweated their way through the recent Australian heatwaves, Commane was playing in the snow for the first time in her life.
"I remember watching the snow fall during training and wishing training would hurry up and finish so I could go outside and play in it," Commane said.
"Honestly, I was like a child. I was throwing snowballs and building snowmen.
"Turns out, my snowman building skills aren't great, I would build them like you would with a sand castle but the trick is to roll the snow."
The snowstorm in Bath led to their round four match against the Stars to be cancelled, an event Commane never thought she would experience.
"Needless to say when our game was postponed due to the snow, I had a little chuckle," she said.
"I never thought a netball game would have been cancelled due to the snow. Flooding or high temperatures maybe, but never snow."
Commane might still have room to improve with her snowman skills, but the goal shooter has shown there's little to develop in her game as she has made an immediate impact for Team Bath.
"The transition into netball was smooth. I jumped off the plane and within four days i was playing in my first tri-tournament with Team Bath," Commane said.
"I love my team, they are a great bunch of ladies who push each other to work hard."
Team Bath registered three wins from their first four games in the United Kingdom's top netball league but they head into their round eight clash on a two game losing streak.
Commane has made an impact in all six matches, but none greater than in a dominant round five victory over Loughborough.
The sharpshooter played the full game and nailed 43 of her 45 attempts to almost outscore her opponents single handedly in a 75-50 victory.
With 11 rounds remaining in the regular season, Commane claims her side is capable of making a push to the finals.
"My prediction is we will be in top four with Wasps, Manchester Thunder and Mavericks," Commane said.
"An absolute cracking top four. It will be tough but we are more than capable of going toe-to-toe with any of those teams. Our team are a bunch of fighters."
However, Commane recognises the team faces a tough task in a competitive competition.
"The competition is fierce. It's not quite at the level of the Australian competition but it's well on its way," she said.
"A number of English players have returned from Australia to play back here having bettered their skills and also there is a number of quality Aussies that are playing here, like my teammate Beryl Friday, an ANZ premiership winner with the Queensland Firebirds.
Away from the court, Commane and her teammates have began to create a strong bond.
"We all have such good banter, there's a real mixture of people," Commane said.
"I love hearing all the different ascents around the United Kingdom. We have a few Welsh players and players from all over England.
"A lot of the time I'm having to explain what I've just said. The girls are learning lots of Aussie slang but in return I picked up the UK slang."
Commane has also taken advantage of the opportunity to travel. She and her husband spent their Christmas Break in Ireland and then Belgium before heading to back to Bath.
