Sections of the carpark are time limited and a “No Stopping” zone applies for the entire foreshore carpark between 12am and 5am to deter holidaymakers from sleeping in their vehicles
There is also an overflow carpark in Willow Street for guests of the Crescent Head Holiday Park who have more than one vehicle, with parking permits issued by park staff.
Council’s manager Development and Compliance, Graham Snow, said rangers will be present in the town over the summer break to ensure campers are staying in the designated areas.
“We welcome all visitors to our area and ask that they do the right thing and comply with the rules and stay in either motels and rental accommodation, or camp within the designated camping grounds at the caravan park or the National Parks,” he said.
“By doing the right thing you are ensuring that everyone has an enjoyable stay.”
