The 50th birthday of both the 50m Olympic Pool and the Apex Toddler’s Pool was also celebrated.
The Birthday Fun Carnival was open to the public and a fun day of activities was enjoyed.
The highlight of the day was watching Kempsey Swimming Club member Margaret Joping wind back the clock as she raced down the pool.
Ms Jopling has spent half her life at the Kempsey Swimming Pool and said in the lead up to the event that the pool “meant a lot to myself and to plenty of others”.
