While Nulla captain Ben Taylor was left with no choice but to make the changes, the luxury of quality depth for the side is evident.
“We have a few forced changes this week,” Taylor told the Argus.
“We bring in a good few decades of experience in Pete Morris, Mark Smee and Liam Taylor.”
Nulla are scheduled to face off with the Pirates, who finished last season winless and on the bottom of the table.
Taylor is expecting to face off with an improved opponent, as the Pirates have talented juniors pushing for spots in their Premier League side.
“Pirates will be much stronger and more confident after their first year,” Taylor said.
“I think they’ll push for the finals, they’re full of young talent.”
With Nulla scheduled for the bye the following week, Taylor admits it’s crucial to get the win.
“We have the bye next week so we would like to build on our last game and hit the ground running,” Taylor said.
Following the bye, Nulla face off with Macleay rivals Rovers in round five.
The much-anticipated contest will be held at the South Kempsey oval.
