Aldavilla Primary School has become yet another school in the Kempsey Shire to raise funds for drought-affected farmers.

The students and staff dressed as farmers yesterday and brought in gold coin donations, totaling $857 in donations.
Teacher Jared Fuller said it was great to see the students getting behind the cause.
“The response has been fantastic, seeing everyone donating has been really good,” he said.

The idea came about through the School Parliament, where student Connor Brauer put forward the idea and other students voted on whether it would go through.
Mr Fuller said there was overwhelming support from both students and teachers towards the fundraiser.
“The students wanted to see this happen and and the staff got behind it as well. We’re about promoting student leadership and this idea and also the fundraiser has shown this,” Mr Fuller said.
The money raised will be donated to the Macleay Hay Run and Aussie Helpers.
