St Joseph’s Primary School raised funds for the Macleay Hay Run today by dressing up as farmers, bringing in gold coin donations and even participating in the Stockman Challenge.

Students paid $2 to enter the challenge, which included hay bale lifting, horseshoe tossing, an egg run and rolling up a swag, all under a time limit of five minutes.
The two teachers who organised the day, Michelle Tarrant and Emma Gamack, said the participation shown my the school community was out standing.
“It’s so good to see the local community and parish coming together to help the drought-affected farmers out west,” Ms Gamack said.
“The students all brought in donations, we had a barbecue lunch and the Stockman Challenge, with all of the proceeds going to the Macleay Hay Run,” Ms Tarrant added.
Dee-Amber Rural donated gift vouchers for the winners of the Stockman Challenge.
Overall the school raised $1455 that will be donated to the Macleay Hay run.
