Mayor Liz Campbell said the community is encouraged to submit an application for small grants that will help deliver projects or programs planned over the next 12 months.
“Council is pleased to help worthwhile community projects come to life. I look forward to seeing what projects can be supported through this fund, and the great results the entire community can benefit from,” Cr Campbell said.
Last year’s funding round was shared among community groups such as the South West Rocks Swimming Club, the Kempsey Railway Centenary, Kempsey Riverside Markets and the Crescent Head Malibu Club.
A handful of organisations have been exempt from having to submit an application, and these are for long-standing community events council has supported over many years. These include end-of-year scholastic achievement awards for local schools and TAFE, Country Education Foundation Australia and the Riverside Christmas event.
If you are a group, organisation or individual based in or providing services to the residents of the Kempsey Shire, you may be eligible to receive funds towards upcoming community programs or projects.
