Ms Hoole said the history of the area is what interests her.
“In 1885 the Land Act was amended and the Government asked for a survey to be carried out on landolders who occupied the land in the area,” Ms Hoole said.
After changes to the Robertson Land Act, inspectors of Stock and Brands and Police were required to carry out the survey and obtain information on occupiers of land and owners of stock in the 55 police districts in NSW.
Ms Hoole said locals can use this book to find out more about their family history in the area.
“People can see where their family lived and occupied land in the Macleay and find out more of their history in the area,” Ms Hoole said.
This book can give locals a better understanding of where their ancestors worked in the Macleay and what land they occupied.
Ms Hoole’s own family comes from the Macleay area and this is what has led to her wanting to record the information on locals.
“I’m still working on my family history, they’re from the area and the history continues to grow the more deeper you go,” Ms Hoole said.
“I like to put meat on the bones of family history.”
