Bobbi won the All-round Junior Cowgirl at Mareeba in far north Queensland and she also won the Under-11 to 14 barrell race and finished in second position in the Under-18 Breakaway Roping.
Levi also won the Under- 8 to 11 steer ride in preparation for his trip to America. The 10-year-old will fly out of Townsville next Saturday night after they compete at the Charters Towers rodeo.
Bobbi’s achievement as the All-round Junior Cowgirl is by far her greatest accolade in rodeo.
“Bobbi was overwhelmed by her achievement as it was her first time in the Under-18 Breakaway Roping,” Bobbi’s father Dean Ward told the Argus.
“Bobbi is sitting in first place in the Under-11 to 14 Barrel standings.
The 13-year-old, who celebrates her birthday today, only took up roping to challenge Levi.
Bobbi continues to develop as a rider and has been adding to her long list of achievements as quickly as her little brother.
Not to be forgotten, the littlest of the Ward clan, Franki, stepped up into the Under-11 Barrel Race at Mareeba and finished in an impressive fifth place.
Franki still has plenty of years ahead of her in the Under-11 division and you can expect to see her dominate similar to her older siblings.
Levi is counting down the days until he fulfills one of his dreams, competing in America against some of the best bull riders of his age group from across the world.
Levi will compete in the Youth Bull Riding World Finals in the steer riding Under 8-11s division and he’s expected to be facing up to 70 competitors.
The Ward family acknowledges and sends its gratitude towards Levi’s sponsors Tumblegum Bakehouse, Milly Hill Meats, Preen Engineering, Red Point and Kempsey Stock and Land and everyone who has contributed towards the fundraiser, as without them the trip to America wouldn’t be possible.
