For the first time in the club’s history, they will field a ladies side, the Kempsey Cannonbells, on the important day.
The Cannonbells have been competing in the Mid North Coast Zone.
“This is great for women on the Mid North Coast seeking to play a different sport,” Cannonballs secretary Brad Taylor said.
“It is also great for the club bringing more families and women into our club.”
The annual Ladies Day is held to celebrate the women involved in the Cannonballs rugby club and it coincides with a fundraiser.
This year, the Cannonballs will be raising funds for Early Connections Kempsey, who support children in meeting early developmental goals through a range of therapies and activities.
“We are proud to support a group in the local Macleay area who are helping kids to achieve these goals,” Taylor said.
The Cannonballs will don a charity jersey for their matches on Saturday against the Coffs Harbour Snappers, with the jerseys of each player sold after the game.
The club will also be running a raffle and the Cannonballs send their gratitude to the sponsors and local businesses who have donated items.
“We are really looking forward to a big day of rugby with six grades taking the field,” Taylor said.
“We invite all supporters to attend and enjoy the Cannonballs’ last home game for the season.”
Action kicks off with the under 14's at 10am with first grade to kick off at 3:15pm.
