Saints’ White team dropped to third place but sit on equal competition points with the Port United Strikers who defeated the Yowies 1-0.
The White team put the pressure immediately on the Green side and a communication error at the back gifted Saints White the opening goal through Kaylina Hoskins.
It wasn’t long until the Green team found an answer and Chloe Rootes converted from the penalty spot.
However, White reinstated their lead from a corner with Shania Kennedy converting the goal just before the half-time break.
The competition leaders again responded as Lucy Coffee controlled a cross at her feet and knocked the ball into the back of the net.
The Green side were on the back foot for the remaining 10-minutes of the match but they were able to hold on for the draw.
“It was a great game with a grand final atmosphere,” Kempsey Saints Women’s Green team’s coach Amy O’Brien said.
“It was probably the best both sides have played this year.”
There are three regular season rounds remaining until the finals series begins.
Green face Port FC while White host Redbacks on Saturday.
