Joshua raced in the Summer Cup held at Lithgow last weekend, coming fourth out of 11 in his class, an impressive result considering he has moved up from the 9-13 years division to the 13-16 years age group.
His race last weekend pitted him against some more experienced drivers older than him, with racing so close that any of the top eight could have won.
His parents decided to move him up early because he was doing so well, with the change giving him more time to get use to driving the more powerful sprint karts.
It’ll also give Joshua, who is currently 12-years-old, three full years running in the junior karts.
Josh has a busy schedule ahead for 2017, with the state series on before building up for the nationals next year.
If Josh is not racing he is kept busy practicing or undertaking fitness training in preparation for upcoming races.
