Barbara Beuzeville from the Macleay Valley Home Hospice and Dana Clarke, CEO of Burrun Dalai have been awarded NSW Women of the Year Awards.

Ms Beuzeville was awarded the 2016 Oxley Woman of the Year and Ms Clarke was awarded the 2016 NSW Aboriginal Woman of the Year.
The NSW Women of the Year Awards honour women who have made an outstanding contribution to this state and local community.
Barbara has been a long-term volunteer for the Macleay Valley Home Hospice which raises funds to purchase equipment for palliative care services and has been a passionate advocate for the needs of those wanting to die with dignity at home in the Macleay community.
Barbara has also worked tirelessly and selflessly with several community organisations assisting people who need support and care in the Kempsey community.
Dana has worked in aboriginal health, domestic violence prevention, child protection, sexual assault and mental health for more than 25 years and is a passionate advocate for the needs of Aboriginal children and young people in out of home care and is a recognised leader of the Kempsey community.
As the Chief Executive Officer for the Burrun Dalai Aboriginal Corporation since 2005, Dana has ensured that services to children and their families and carers achieve the best possible life outcomes.
She is committed to ensuring that Aboriginal children are raised in safe, nurturing environments which connect them with their community and culture, while maintaining their family identity and relationships.
The award was presented on Wednesday by the Member for Oxley Melinda Pavey, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs Leslie Williams and the Minister for Women Pru Goward at a special reception at Parliament House.
