Saints president Matt Baker and a number of other club members have been working for the past month upgrading the change rooms and canteen.
“We are trying to make the club more user friendly by making the canteen and change rooms bigger, including more storage area, which just won’t be available to football but cricket as well,” Mr Baker said.
“We’ve got one grant from the Coastline Credit Union which is greatly appreciated and has allowed us to move forward with the renovations but there will also be some funds coming out of the club’s coffers and hopefully enough to finish the project.
“It has all been done through volunteer labour predominately from six club members and a junior member who have been working for the last month on the project.” Mr Baker said Saints are preparing for the 2016 season and the club is growing strongly.
“We are hoping the club will continue to grow as it has for the past five years and it’s great to see more families and kids get involved in sport in the Macleay.
“There will be 2016 registration days on Saturday, February 13 and 20 from 10am to 1pm and on Wednesday, February 17 and 24 from 4pm till 6pm at the Kempsey Hotel. “And the club will also hold U6 introductory training sessions on Wednesday February 10, 17 and 24 from 3.30pm at St Joey’s.
